Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Hawkeye, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The Iowa Telecommunications and Technology Commission (ITTC) operating the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) will be receiving sealed bid proposals for: ICN OSP Project # 33230207 Fayette Co - West Union. The existing ICN cable is unlocatable for a 2.25-mile section along Neon Rd between Highway 18 and 200th St. The existing cable is running along the east side of the shoulder of the gravel road. The new proposed cable relocation will extend to a total of 3.75 miles from existing ICN handholes/splice cases at each end and the new cable will be placed on the west side of Neon Rd to avoid the unlocatable section of cable. The two existing ICN handholes at each end of the relocation will need to be raised or stacked to grade. The new cable placement will need to go under all culvert crossings along the route. Contractor will be responsible for reviewing and verifying all culvert crossings and obtaining the permit from Fayette County for this cable relocation. Relocation to be completed prior to frost of this year if at all possible, otherwise spring of 2023. Completion date: Not later than November 25, 2022 (prior to 2022 winter frost or spring of 2023) (extension may be negotiated based upon weather and/or unforeseen construction problems in the ROW).
