DNR staff will let you through the gate. Drive approximately 4 miles to the end of the GM-1 Road and park at the Summit Vista Parking Lot. The project consists of the renovation of the Summit Vista in Green Mountain State Forest that provides views of Seattle and the Olympic Mountains. Work includes clearing and grading, installing a new picnic shelter, field stone sitting walls and sitting boulders, replacing an existing guardrail with a new guardrail, providing a fresh layer of crushed rock surfacing in viewing areas, lining edges of gravel with small boulders and restoring impacted areas. The required substantial completion date is May 31, 2023.
