The city of Washington is accepting bids for the installation of approximately 360 Linear feet of 24" ABS Plastic Storm Sewer Pipe. The City has the material except for a top inlet grate. The City is requesting a bid proposal for the installation of the pipe. Project includes opening the side of an existing concrete storm catch box located on the south side of the intersection of W. 2nd St. and Crest St. and installing the pipe south to an existing road tube located on the north side of W. 3rd St. At this point of connection to existing tube, a concrete box will be required to be provided and installed by contractor with a 24" X 24" inlet grate in the top of the box. The project crosses a grass easement and does not cut into any street. The project does run parallel, as well as crosses, existing utilities, including underground electric, natural gas line, and sanitary sewer. Contractor will be responsible for safely exposing and protecting these utilities. A private irrigation system may interfere with the project, and the contractor will be responsible for protecting and/or repairing the system if damaged. Landscaping and seeding will be completed by contractor. The City requests the work be completed by December 31, 2022. If weather should delay the project, an extension through April 1, 2023, may be granted upon request to the City Administrator. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
