Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids. Bids received after the above-referenced date and time shall be returned to the Bidder unopened.The projects include General Construction including ceiling replacement, painting and flooring at both buildings, window replacement at both buildings and roofing at Thaddeus Stevens. Mechanical Construction includes complete mechanical system replacement, Electrical Construction includes electrical system renovations including new lighting, electrical room upgrades and power to new mechanical systems. Miscellaneous work for general construction will include structural modifications and masonry work to support the new mechanical systems and miscellaneous finishes identified in the contract documents. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the forms provided in the Project Manual, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, must be furnished by the successful Bidder prior to execution of a Contract. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder for sixty (60) calendar days following the actual date of opening thereof, except as provided by the Commonwealth Procurement Code.
