This solicitation is for the removal and replacement of a boiler for The State of Louisiana, Department of Corrections, located at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center - Main Laundry Mechanical Room, 6925 LA-74, St Gabriel, LA 70776. In accordance with La. R.S. 49:950, any boiler installation with a minimum of two hundred thousand (200,000) BTUs, or a minimum of fifty (50) gallons, will require a Boiler Installers License from the Louisiana State Fire Marshall's Office. This Boiler Installers License must appear on the bid envelope on all projects in the amount of $10,000.00 or more. Failure to do so will remove the bid from consideration. accordance with La. R.S. 37:2163.A, a Contractors License Number in the appropriate classification(s) such as Mechanical and/or Steam and Hot Water Heating in Buildings or Plants must appear on the bid opening envelope on all projects in the amount of $10,000.00 or more (and $1.00 or more if hazardous materials are involved). Failure to do so will remove the bid from consideration. In accordance with La. R.S. 37.2163, anyone objecting to the above classification(s) must send a certified letter to both the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors and the Office of State Procurement. The letter must be received no later than ten (10) working days prior to the day on which the bid is to be opened. For any bid submitted in the amount of $50,000 or more, a bid security (insurance company, bank money order, certified check, or cashiers check made payable to "State of Louisiana - Department of Corrections") must be included with the bidder's submission in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount bid (including base bid and additive alternates, if any) and shall become the property of the agency in the event the contract and bond are not executed within the time set forth in the bid solicitation.
