ESTIMATE BUDGET is over $5,000,000 The project primarily consisting of an extension of approximately 19,850 linear feet of 24-inch diameter ductile iron pipe water main which will extend from the existing CR 33 elevated tank within the existing CR ROW to Fairhope Avenue (CR 48) elevated tank. All bids must be on file with the City of Fairhope, at City Services and Public Utilities Building, 555 South Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama, 36532, Fairhope, Alabama, 36532 on or prior to the hour and date first mentioned above, and must be sealed. Bidding Documents are on file and may be examined at the office of the City of Fairhope, City Services and Public Utilities Building 555 South Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama, 36532. No specifications will be issued to contractors later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the time indicated above for receiving bids.. Time of commencement of the Work and Contract Times for completion shall be in accordance with the Agreement. The City of Fairhope reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive technicalities, informalities or irregularities in the bids received, solicit new bids, or to choose that bid which is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Fairhope. The instructions contained in this "Notice to Bidders" shall be considered as an extension and part of the project contract documents. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly licensed and qualified to submit a proposal for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing City for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. Prior to the award of a competitively bid contract to a contractor having one or more employees in the State of Alabama, Alabama law requires that the contractor provide the City proof of enrollment in E-Verify and to execute a certificate of compliance with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer And Citizen Protection Act (Act 2011-535), as amended by Act 2012-491. Regardless of employment in the State of Alabama, proof of enrollment in E-Verify shall be provided. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the City of Fairhope.
