The project will consist of cleaning, inspection and rehabilitation of existing sanitary manholes and large diameter sanitary sewer mains. All of this will be done for three miles on the north side of the city. Public Works Sewer Division Jeff Hughes explained the process that will be used to extend the life of the pipelines in this project. "The contractor inserts a liner into the concrete pipe, uh it's pyroglass and poxy res impregnated in it, uh it basically restores the structure integrity and helps with the corrosion resistance," said Hughes. The mayor expressed the need to be cognizant of the costs of future pipe projects. A decision on the project will be made at the next city commission meeting on January 24th. _________________________________________________________________________________ The Albany Pipe Rehabilitation project consists of the pre-rehabilitation cleaning, and inspection, followed by the rehabilitation of existing sanitary manholes and large diameter sanitary sewer mains in Albany Georgia. The work is located on the north side of the city and broken into the following phases: Phase 3 - Approximately 3000 feet of sanitary sewer along Seaboard Drive and 16th Avenue to Pace St and 11 manholes, Phase 4 - Approximately 1700 feet of sanitary sewer from Pace St. and 16th Avenue to Lift Station #66 and 7 manholes, Phase 5 - Approximately 4000 feet of sanitary sewer from Jefferson St along railroad right-of-way and across industrial area to Lift Station #88 and 11 manholes. Phase 2 - Approximately 4000 feet of sanitary sewer along Palmyra Road, Stuart and 18th Avenue to Seaboard Drive and 12 manholes, Phase 1 - Approximately 5000 feet of sanitary sewer along Schley Avenue between McLain Lane and Lift Station #67 and 16 manholes.
