The Charter Township of Orion (population of approximately 37,945 residents) located in northern Oakland County in southeast Michigan is requesting proposals from qualified individuals/firms/corporations ("Contractor" or "Contractors") to provide joint contracted building inspection services. Details pertaining to the Township and its organization are available on the Township's website, www.oriontownship.org. The RFP is for on call building inspection services, including, but not limited to, plan review, permit issuance, residential and commercial inspections, and part time 5-days a week HVAC, plumbing, and electrical inspections in accordance with State building codes, maintenance of inspection records and reports, code enforcement, and meeting attendance when requested. Alternate proposals for a part time soil erosion inspector may be submitted. The contractor will receive direction from the Township Building Official and/or his designee(s) relative to the inspection work assigned. The contractor will be expected to interact with the staff of Building Department, depending upon the nature of the particular issue.
