Fix-It Find-It Sewer Rehabilitation. The Town of Pittsboro has a history of rainfall derived inflow and infiltration (I&I) in the sewer collection system. In 2018, the Town finalized a wastewater assessment and inventory study on the collection system, which identified numerous defects in collection system assets. The study also identified the need for additional CCTV inspection in portions of the collection system where previous flow monitoring indicated significant inflow and infiltration. This project is intended to bid CCTV inspection, manhole rehabilitation and repair, and sewer pipe point repairs and cured in place (CIPP) rehabilitation at various points in the system. The previous study already established prioritized manhole and sewer pipe improvements that can be addressed to reduce I&I. As the CCTV information is gathered in the collection system, it may reveal additional defects or issues that require urgent correction or substantially contribute to I&I. As such those defects or issues may become more urgent to correct than previous defects that were identified in the study. To meet funding program specific milestones, the initial scope includes project planning and management, including submitting an Engineering Report to the Division of Water Infrastructure (DWI) for review no later than December 24, 2022. Project construction documents and specifications shall be complete and submitted to DWI for review no later than November 1, 2023. This will be followed by construction administration and observation services, which shall begin by August 1, 2024, and be complete by December 1, 2026.
