Renovation of a municipal facility in Waxahachie, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Firm(s) shall identify their proposal response on the outside of the envelope by writing: Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) Services (RFQ/RFP#2022-CMAR RFQ/RFP-0001). The City reserves the right, as the interest of the City may require, to reject any and all proposals, and to waive any informality in proposals received. No officer or employee of the City of Waxahachie shall have a financial interest, direct or indirect, in any contract with the City of Waxahachie. General Description. The Waxahachie City Hall is a civic building built in three distinct phases; the original 1911 post office building built in the neoclassical style, a non-descript circa 1950s addition, and a 1998 addition built in the post-modern style. The 1911 post office was built by the United States Treasury under the supervision of supervising architect James Knox Taylor and the 1998 addition was designed by the architecture firm Ron Hobbs Architects out of Garland, Texas. The post office building's Doric columns, classical entablature, and location on a raised plinth are typical of the neoclassical style. The 1998 addition's octagonal entrance and classical references are typical of the post-modern style. The project is a proposed renovation of the existing City Hall to improve city service to the community and provide an improved and more efficient working environment for the city staff. The project is located on an approximate 2-acre site in historic downtown Waxahachie on South Rodgers Street across form the new City Hall Annex. The vision of the city and project is to provide a pedestrian/citizen friendly interior environment. The scope will also include certain improvements to the exterior building envelope.
