Site work, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Norfolk, Virginia. Design plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
As of August 2024, the project is in design and information regarding the general contractor bidding has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been established. The City of Norfolk (the City) Department of Public Works is seeking proposals from qualified professional engineering firms to provide required services for the design of waterfront facilities and amenities, which are generally, but not necessarily, intended for recreational uses and purposes. Included among these facilities and amenities are a new boat ramp on Pretty Lake at Shore Drive, and a new fishing pier adjacent to the Granby Street Bridge. In addition to these two projects, the City may use the services of the selected firm for design, rehabilitation, or repair of other boat ramps, piers, kayak & canoe launches, docks, promenades, or related facilities. The City intends to enter into an agreement with one single firm selected to provide these services.
