As of November 3, 2023, this project is in the conceptual phase and is pending funding for design. An architect has not been selected. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it could be a few years or more away from the start of construction. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Any questions should be directed to City Project Manager, Robyn Saunders (rsaunders@westbrook.me.us or 207-854-0660 x3014) between the hours of 7am and 3pm. Bids shall be lump sum with a schedule of values to be provided by the Bidder. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked "Conceptual Plan for Outdoor Swimming Pool Reconstruction." The City of Westbrook reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to award the contract to a bidder other than the lowest bid offered, if such actions are in the best interest of the City of Westbrook. This does not commit the City of Westbrook to any specific course of action. The Project, located at 426 Bridge Street in Westbrook, consists of: A. A limited subsurface investigation overseen by a licensed professional geotechnical engineer (PE) in the State of Maine, which will include: 1. At least two (2) days of test borings + ledge probes across the project site (see Figure 1 for project site map). 2. A geotechnical engineering report with recommendations for earthwork + foundations for the proposed project. B. A survey of the project site by a professional/licensed land surveyor in the State of Maine, which will include: 1. Existing conditions + utilities at/around the project site 2. Locations of test borings + ledge probes 3. Other pertinent information C. A conceptual design + layout of the proposed outdoor swimming pool, that is 8-10 ft deep and covers roughly 6,500 SF (pool + deck/apron) at the project site This is a grant funded project, which requires compliance with Davis Bacon Act wage requirements (and other grant requirements) and all work to be completed by March 1, 2023. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
