Site work and new construction of a civil project in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Working plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project.
The City of Salmon Arm, as part of its Capital Works program, is proposing to undertake the preliminary design of an approximately 13,500 m3 storm water storage facility per the recommendations of the City's Storm water Master Plan. The purpose of the storm pond design is to mitigate flooding concerns within the Downtown Core. A major storm water trunk line is significantly undersized according to the storm water modelling completed for the 2020 Storm water Master Plan and pipe upgrades are not considered feasible, as such a storm water detention pond was recommended to provide the storage and release rate required to mitigate risk of downstream flooding. TIMELINE: Design is ongoing. Tender and construction timelines are undetermined. Further update in late summer 2025, upon budget approval.
