Renovation of a mixed-use development in East Haddam, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Town of East Haddam, Connecticut and the East Haddam Board of Education (collectively the "Town") is soliciting proposals from design or other qualified firms for the following professional services: Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Engineering Specifications and Design. The services required are (1) Conceptual Design Development; (2) Contract Documents; (3) Bidding and (4) Construction Administration.Based upon a preliminary evaluation performed by the Town, the scope of the project is briefly described as follows:Architectural and Engineering Specifications and Design Study for installation, upgrades, and improvements for East Haddam Public Schools, including the Nathan Hale-Ray High School, Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School, and East Haddam Elementary School. The design effort would include evaluating different systems and associated costs and benefits. The study would include but not be limited to, system cost, efficiency, maintainability, applicability to facility, project delivery and schedule for each school. Upon approval, the final design and construction would take place in accordance with agreed upon schedules. It is expected that the selected firm's scope will include all necessary work through occupancy and project closeout.After evaluation of all qualifications, the Town will develop a short list of no more than four (4) firms that will be interviewed and evaluated in accordance with the Request for Qualifications/Proposals. Responses to questions submitted shall be provided to all known respondents to this Request for Qualifications/Proposals. No questions will be accepted or answered after Thursday, October 20, 2022 Addendums will be prepared as necessary and distributed to all interested firms.The Town of East Haddam reserves the right in its sole discretion to waive any informalities or defects in any bid. The Town reserves the right to accept any proposal other than the lowest bid if the Board of Selectmen, in its sole discretion, deems it to be in the best interest of the Town to do so. Bids, amendments to bids or withdrawal of bids after the time set for bid acceptance will not be considered. Respondents acknowledge bid submission does not constitute an offer of employment. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
