Provide and install two digital marquee signs at Kaimuki High School. New Equipment a. New sign #1 shall be Single-Face, full color Galaxy Outdoor Electronic Message Center. New sign #2 shall be Single-Face, full color Galaxy Outdoor Electronic Message Center. Daktronics model number: GT6x-144-288-10-RGB-SF, with extreme weather IP67 rated aluminum cabinet. The sign’s active area shall be 4’-10”H x 9’-8” W. The cabinet size shall be 5’-4” H x 9’-11” W x 7” D. b. Equipment shall be as called out above or a pre-approved equal. Contractors must submit substitution requests for approval prior to the question end date. Requests must be accompanied by a side by side comparison that shows that the requested substitution meets or exceeds the unit that the school officials are requesting. II. Sign Mounting a. The new #1 marquee sign shall be mounted at the front drop off area above the “Kaimuki High School” sign (see attached pic) and on the end of Kaimuki High School’s building D facing Kapiolani intersection. (see attached pic). (Exact location to be determined at the mandatory Pre-bid meeting). Mounting marquee signs on posts supports anchoring screws, nuts and bolts shall be stainless steel on roof tops. b. The contractor shall provide and install a full length continuous 3” x 3” x 1/4" extruded aluminum angle rail on the top and bottom for the mounting of the sign box. In addition, the contractor will be responsible for providing any additional brackets and hardware necessary for the complete installation of the new sign. c. All brackets shall be 1/4" extruded aluminum and anchoring screws, nuts and bolts shall be stainless steel. III. Electrical a. Electrical work shall be for both power and communication b. The power for the signs shall be run from the rooftop walkway and the building D rooftop from the building D electrical panel. The contractor shall verify power requirements of the sign before ordering. Wiring shall be sized per local electrical code and the NEC Handbook. c. Contractor shall include grounding rods and an approved surge protection device in a separate electrical power line at the panel to protect new equipment from electrical power surges
