The City of Goodlettsville is requesting sealed bids from contractors for the installation of an outdoor sand volleyball facility consisting of four courts at Moss-Wright Park at 745 Caldwell Drive, Goodlettsville, TN 37072. Installation of this facility includes but is not limited to: four (4) courts with associated appurtenances, playground boarders, underdrain system, sand mix over a stone base, excavation and stockpile of topsoil and subsoils, fine grading. Court Dimensions: (4) Four recreational 30' x 60' ft adjacent courts with free space surrounding. Court
specification diagram attached to reflect free space requirements. Total facility parameter should be a
minimum of 187' 3" x 84' 6" to meet aforementioned specifications.
Installation of Court:
Excavate to meet court construction cross section diagram (see attached), remove and discard spoils
Slope grade to the middle of each side of court according to court construction cross section diagram
(see attached)
Install 4" perforated, PVC drain line (sloping to low side of court)
Install pole sleeves
Install a #57 washed stone across court, leaving 12" for sand
Install court edging around facility parameter
Install fabric over gravel layer
Install sand to finished elevation SUBMITTALS
Contractor shall provide the following materials in the sealed bid submittal:
a. Budget
Detailed budget breakdown should be included as a lump sum. The City is exempt from all Federal and
State tax; proposals must quote prices which do not include sales tax.
b. Available start date
Date contractor is available to begin said work
c. Timeline of installation
Provide a propose, detailed timeline outlining how much time the install will take.
d. References/Experience
Describe past projects that are similar to the proposed project that the company has completed. All
proposals must include a completed copy of the enclosed reference sheet.
MEETINGS
Pre-Bid Meeting: Contractors will be required to attend 1 pre-bid meeting to discuss installation, view
site, and ask questions.
Pre-construction Meeting: The selected contractor will be required to attend a pre-construction meeting
to discuss timeline, material delivery, etc.
MATERIALS
All materials will be provided for the contractor; proposals are only for installation and labor. Sand, gravel,
drainage, volleyball appurtenances, etc. will be on side ahead of construction.
INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL OF EQUIPMENT TO BE COMPLETE BY NOVEMBER 30, 2022. The City of Goodlettsville reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive formalities.
