Additionally, the desire is to create ease of navigation that reduces stress on patients/visitors, through improved wayfinding throughout buildings, walkways and tunnels at the SBH Campus. The scope of this RFP in relation to the multi-phased wayfinding initiative at SBH is to secure one (1) supplier to provide consulting and design services for the assessment and design phase of this initiative (Phase 1), which focuses on developing the specifications required for the fabrication and installation of new signage and other wayfinding elements throughout the Main Hospital within the SBH Campus, in accordance with the Signage Standards Manual previously developed for SBH. These services are to include directional wayfinding signage and other wayfinding elements such as floor decals, designed to assist patients, visitors, staff, and others with navigation to; (a) various departments, units, elevator banks, staircases, washrooms, services, and other landmarks throughout the Main Hospital; and (b) entrances and exits, including emergency exits and fire-exit routes. It is the intent to enter into an Agreement for a four (4) month term with one (1) proponent who will provide the services as identified in this RFP. There will be an option to extend this Agreement for an additional two (2) month period at the sole discretion of the Purchaser, only if additional time is required to complete the specific services as detailed in this RFP. The awarded Agreement is anticipated to commence January 16, 2023. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
