The City of Eureka is accepting bids for asphalt street rehabilitation projects. 1. Sierra Village Drive Grind two (2) butt joints at approximately 61 l.f., provide a wedge Level of 0 to1 inch (approximately 3,212 square yards) of Type "X" asphalt, ensure a roadway cross slope, minimum 1.5%, from the roadway crown (center of road) to the edge or curb line. Apply an SS-1 tack coat at a rate of 0.15 gallons per square yard and provide a 2" overlay of BP1 asphalt with fiber. Approximately asphalt quantity = 3,212 sq yds. 2. Sierra Terrace Provide a wedge Level of 0 to1 inch (approximately 529 square yards) of Type "X" asphalt, ensure a roadway cross slope, minimum 1.5%, from the roadway crown (center of road) to the edge or curb line. Apply an SS-1 tack coat at a rate of 0.15 gallons per square yard and provide a 2" overlay of BP-1 asphalt with fiber. Approximately asphalt quantity = 529 sq yds. 3. Sierra Lane Provide a wedge Level of 0 to1 inch (approximately 662 square yards) of Type "X" asphalt, ensure a roadway cross slope, minimum 1.5%, from the roadway crown (center of road) to the edge or curb line. Apply an SS-1 tack coat at a rate of 0.15 gallons per square yard and provide a 2" overlay of BP-1 asphalt with fiber. Approximately asphalt quantity = 662 sq yds. 4. Butler Drive Grinding of existing asphalt over a concrete street shall consist of variable depth milling to ensure a roadway cross slope, minimum 1.5%, from the roadway crown (center of road) to the edge or curb line. Provide a wedge Level of 0 to1 inch (approximately 4,244 square yards) of Type "X" asphalt, apply an SS-1 tack coat at a rate of 0.15 gallons per square yard and provide a 2" overlay of BP-1 asphalt with fiber. Approximately asphalt quantity = 4,244 sq yds. 5. Hagemeister Drive Grinding of existing asphalt over a concrete street shall consist of variable depth milling to ensure a roadway cross slope, minimum 1.5%, from the roadway crown (center of road) to the edge or curb line. Provide a wedge Level of 0 to1 inch (approximately 1,202 square yards) of Type "X" asphalt, apply an SS-1 tack coat at a rate of 0.15 gallons per square yard and provide a 2" overlay of BP-1 asphalt with fiber. Approximately asphalt quantity = 1,202 sq yds. 6. Schmelz Drive Grinding of existing asphalt over a concrete street shall consist of variable depth milling to ensure a roadway cross slope, minimum 1.5%, from the roadway crown (center of road) to the edge or curb line. Provide a wedge Level of 0 to1 inch (approximately 2,633 square yards) of Type "X" asphalt, apply an SS-1 tack coat at a rate of 0.15 gallons per squareyard and provide a 2" overlay of BP-1 asphalt with fiber. Approximately asphalt quantity = 2,633 sq yds Each bidder shall submit a bid bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total amount of the base bid. The bid bond shall be made payable to the City of Eureka, Missouri and shall be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, bid bond or negotiable U.S. Government bond. The bid security shall be held for a period of thirty (30) days or until a contract is awarded, whichever is longer. Each bidder shall familiarize themselves with the projectsite and be aware of the extent of the work required to complete the project. Bids will be reviewed and the one deemed in the best interest of the City of Eureka will be accepted. In connection with the review of responses to this bid invitation the City will take necessary measures to ensure that the apparent lowest and best bidder is not a debarred company. Pursuant to Section 285.530 RSMo as a condition of the award of any contract in excess of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), the successful bidder shall, by sworn affidavit and provision of documentation, affirm its enrollment and participation in a federal work authorization program with respect to the employees working in connection to the contracted services. Successful bidders shall also sign an affidavit affirming that it does not knowingly employ any person who is an unauthorized alien in connection to the contracted services. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum prevailing wages and salaries for the appropriate trades as set forth in St. Louis County shall be paid on this project. A copy of the current Annual Wage Order is attached. The contractor will forfeit a penalty to the contracting public body of ten dollars ($10.00) per day (or portion of a day) if a worker is paid less than the prevailing wage rate for any work done under contract by the contractor or by any subcontractor.
