The major construction items include approximately: approximately 3,500 s.y. HMA milling, More than 3" to 6"; 950 tons HMA 9.5M-64 Surface Course; 800 tons HMA 25M-64 Base Course; 5 units Inlet, Type E; 149 l.f. 15" Reinforced concrete pipe; 3,500 s.y. topsoil stabilization; and various other restoration items. Bidders shall be aware that the Base Bid contract is funded utilizing monies from Grants received by the Township of Union from the New Jersey Department of Transportation Local Aid. Bidders will be furnished with a copy of the Bid Package by the Township Engineer upon proper one-day advance notice. Payment of cost of preparation in the amount of $50.00 (plus postage, if mailed), non-refundable, is required at the time of purchase. Bids must be made on standard proposal forms provided in the Bid Package in the manner designated therein, and required by the Specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Township of Union, 140 Perryville Road, Hampton, New Jersey 08827, and must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit with either a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, providing said check or bid bond need not be more than $20,000.00 nor shall not be less than $500.00, and such other documents and certifications as required in the Bid Package, and be delivered at the place on or before the hour named above. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A.10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C.17:27 et seq. Bidders are also required to conform to all provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law and the Prevailing Wage Act. The Township of Union Mayor and Council reserve the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bid inuring to the benefit of the Township of Union.
