The City of Merced, Engineering Department, is seeking proposals for potholing utility lines. The work to be done consists in general of potholing for utilities: 18th Street from R Street to V Street. This is a City of Merced Capital Improvement Project, which could include, but is not limited to: roadway construction, curb and gutter installation, and full depth reclamation. TASK 1 - Potholing 1. Consultant shall perform the potholing by means of an approved vacuum truck or trailer or by small hand tools. 2. The consultant shall provide the following information for each utility located: a. Measurement to top of utility b. Measurement to bottom of utility c. Description of utility located 3. Consultant shall backfill potholes per notes and details on the plans. City's Responsibilities o The City shall provide the Consultant with existing and preliminary design plans, studies, and information concerning the project. o The City shall designate a representative authorized to act on its behalf with respect to the contract(s). o The City shall furnish required information and review draft documents as expeditiously as necessary for the orderly progress of the work. o The City will prepare the bid documents, including plans and specifications. o The City shall provide an inspector to monitor the construction. We anticipate award of the statement of services agreement by October 6, 2022. The work described herein shall meet a proposed schedule of deliverables that will include delivery of intermediate work products and the final design documents in a timely manner, as identified in the timeline presented in your proposal. Consultant shall, within fifteen (15) days of contract award and before performance of the work, file a Performance Bond, with and approved by the City, in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price. The Performance Bond shall remain in effect until recordation of the Notice of Completion, or if a Notice of Completion is not recorded by the City, for sixty (60) days after completion of the work.
