Q & A deadline: Dec 05, 2022, 11:00 PM EST The work will consist of: The county of Santa Clara essential services building renovation will house The county's 911 communications department and office of emergency Management. The work will retrofit an existing 46,700sf, concrete tilt-up Panel, single story, high bay building for use as an essential services building. This requires upgrades to the building, as well as replacement of most of the Systems and equipment to meet the applicable seismic risk factor category iv Requirements. Structural improvements include the following: o(4) new braced frames to upgrade the lateral force-resisting system oenhanced panel-to-roof connections to restrain panels against out-of-plane Forces ostrongbacks at panel joints, to improve performance of panels in flexure oplate connections between panels to improve in-plane stability oenhanced panel hold downs and foundations to improve in-plane stability ostrengthening of key roof members to improve force transfer within a line System and equipment seismic upgrades include: oall active equipment shall be shake table tested for seismic certification per Cbc 1705a/asce 7-10. oall mep and fs equipment shall be braced per the requirements of cbc for Seismic design category f and a component importance factor (ip) of 1.5. Mechanical and fire suppression: obrace all ducts with a cross sectional area of 6 square feet or greater. obrace all ducts with an operating weight of 10lb/ft or greater. obrace all pipes greater than 1" in diameter. obrace all trapeze assemblies supporting loads of 10lb/ft or greater. obrace all inline devices of 75lbs or greater. Electrical: obrace all conduit greater than 2.5" diameter. obrace all trapeze assemblies supporting loads of 10lb/ft or greater. Plumbing: obrace all pipes greater than 1" in diameter. obrace all trapeze assemblies supporting loads of 10lb/ft or greater. Telcom/av/security equipment and systems: otelecommunications racks and hardware shall be independently seismic-tested And certified to meet industry recognized telcordia technologies, inc. Gr-63- Core network equipment building systems (nebs) zone 4 requirements ocomponent attachments shall be bolted, welded, or otherwise positively Fastened without consideration of frictional assistance produced by the Effects of gravity. A continuous load path of sufficient strength and stiffness Between the component and the supporting structure shall be provided. oactive equipment that must remain operable following an earthquake shall be Certified by the supplier as operable based on shake table testing.
