Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Marengo, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 5,555-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.

The project consists of construction of two buildings on two separate sites. A new Public Safety Kitchen where the existing Secondary Roads office is presently located, consisting of demolition, site improvements, and approximately 1,955 square feet of new construction. A new Secondary Roads Office building located on the Secondary Roads Shop property located at the V-66 - I-80 interchange (2202 M Ave., Williamsburg), consisting of site improvements and approximately 3,600 square feet of new construction. Owner will issue an authorization letter and tax exemption certificate to the contractor and/or subcontractors for the purchase or use of building materials, supplies, and equipment to be used on this project only. DO NOT INCLUDE SALES TAX ON YOUR BID FORM. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 30 calendar days after the date of the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. Bids shall be based on a stipulated sum contract for multiple contracts. Bid security in the amount of five percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders. The successful bidder shall be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price. It is intended for a Notice of Award to be issued within 30 days of the receipt of the bids. A notice to proceed will be issued upon execution of the construction contract and delivery of the required bonds. Commencement of each project shall begin within 15 days after a notice to proceed is issued. Construction of the Public Safety Kitchen to be completed by July 31, 2023. Construction of the Secondary Roads Office to be completed by October 31, 2023. A construction schedule will be created by the Construction Manager upon consultation with the successful bid package contractors. Bidders shall be prepared to submit a performance bond and payment bond conditioned on the faithful performance of the contract. Out-of-state bidders shall be prepared to submit an Out-of-State Contractor Bond to the Iowa Division of Labor in accordance with Chapter 91C of the Code of Iowa. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa labor to the extent lawfully required under Iowa law.
