The Town of Cumberland acting through its Director of Public Works, Joseph Duarte and the Water Department Superintendent, Romeo Mendes and in accordance with the provisions of Rhode Island General Law Chapter 45-55, Award of Municipal Contracts, section 45-55-5 Competitive sealed bidding, inclusive, seeks proposals from qualified firms to perform a two (2) inch mill and overlay at the corner of Mendon and Angell Roads in Cumberland, RI. The area runs from the northern edge of the existing patch to the stop bar at the corner of Mendon and Angell measuring 16 feet by 88 feet. Failure to submit all information called for may be sufficient grounds for disqualification. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or cash or a certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company payable to the TOWN OF CUMBERLAND. Such bid deposit shall be not less than five (5%) percent of the value of the proposed work, as estimated by the awarding authority. A Labor and Material Bond shall be submitted by the successful low bidder upon award of the contract for not less than half the total contract price
