A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The project is located in the City of Placerville along Placerville Drive from the Fairgrounds Interchange at US Highway 50 to Armory Drive. The primary goal of the project is to address the immediate need for pedestrian connectivity and safety improvements by closing a large gap in the sidewalk network on Placerville Drive between key origins and destinations. The work to be done is shown on the Plans, and generally consists of, but is not limited to: From the Fairgrounds Interchange/Helmrich Lane to the County Fairgrounds crosswalk, the project will construct curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the west side of Placerville Drive and narrow the vehicular lanes to calm traffic. From the County Fairgrounds crosswalk to Armory Drive, the project will construct curb, gutter, and sidewalk on the east side of Placerville Drive and narrow the vehicular lanes to calm traffic. At the County Fairgrounds crosswalk, the project will install a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) to provide a safer midblock crosswalk for pedestrians. Through the project limits, provide pavement rehabilitation, minor storm drain rehabilitation, and roadway striping. The contract time shall be 75 WORKING DAYS. The City has established there will be a disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) contract goal of 15 percent. The Contractor is required to take the necessary and reasonable steps to ensure that DBEs have opportunity to participate in the Contract (49 CFR 26.13(b)). Bid security shall be in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid and shall be cash, a certified check or cashier's check drawn for the order of the City of Placerville or a Bidder's Bond executed by a surety satisfactory to the City of Placerville on the form provided in the Proposal section of these Contract Documents (do not detach form). The Bidder to whom award is made shall provide Certificates of Insurance, and shall complete and submit the Performance Bond and Payment Bond in and amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total Contract price plus change orders, to hold good for a period of one year after the completion and acceptance of the work, to protect the City against the results of defective materials, quality of work, and equipment during that time. The bond forms are contained within the Contract Documents. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any irregularities in the bids.
