Saving Project...

Renovation and addition to a medical facility in Wawa, Ontario. Design plans call for the addition of a medical facility; and for the renovation of a medical facility.

Michipicoten First Nation Health Centre Renovation & expansion (29%). This project will renovate, expand, and upgrade the existing building, as well as improve the energy efficiency performance and increase the accessibility for community members. The main project outcomes are: energy savings / GHG reductions, increased accessibility, climate resiliency (example: making the building more resilient to weather events) and building codes / safety. The interior layout will be reconfigured for better accessibility and safety. The work will include a 29% expansion of the building floor area, the exact configuration to be confirmed with the Project Team. Other modifications include installing an accessible washroom, ramp, and push-button access doors. The work will also resolve safety issues and improve egress routes throughout the building. TIMELINE: An RFP for design was awarded to Serino Architects. Project is still in early preliminary design. Detailed design may commence late Q1 2023/early Q2 2023. Updates on design may be available summer 2023. *Budget is undefined.
