Renovation of a mixed-use development in Encinitas, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Replace rooftop AHU at the end of its service life at the UC San Diego Garden View Medical Plaza, 1200 Garden View Road, Encinitas, CA 92024. The new unit will provide increased air flows to maintain cleanroom pressurization, humidity, and temperature serving the Chemo Compounding Cleanroom and Hazardous Receiving and Storage room in the 2nd floor Infusion Pharmacy. The new HVAC unit and related condenser, rooftop ducting will be installed and other improvements constructed by contractor while the existing unit continues to serve the pharmacy to minimize down time to existing operations. The new HVAC unit is to be furnished by the contractor and anticipated lead time to receive the HVAC and condenser equipment is six (6) months. The contractor can commence rooftop and interior work at any time prior to equipment delivery with two (2) weeks prior notice to UC San Diego. Estimated project duration is TWO HUNDRED FORTY-FOUR (244) calendar days. Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in This State. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B- GENERAL BUILDING CONTRACTOR AND C-20 MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR. In addition, the University is committed to promoting and increasing participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs) relating to all goods and services covered under the awarded agreement, subject to any and all applicable obligations under state and federal law, and University policies. The awarded contractor shall make best efforts to provide qualified SBEs and DVBEs with the maximum opportunity to participate. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. Contractors and subcontractors must use the DIR's upgraded electronic certified payroll reporting (eCPR) system to furnish certified payroll records (CPRs) to the Labor Commissioner. Contractors and subcontractors who have been submitting PDF copies of their CPRs for earlier projects must also begin using the new system. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
