Plans call to renovate and expand the connector between concourses A and B, add new passenger amenities including food and retail concessions and new restrooms, install a new baggage handling system and create larger gate areas to accommodate the bigger airplanes being flown by Southwest Airlines, the airport's largest carrier. As of November 5, 2024, the project is in preliminary design stage. The design completion is scheduled to be completed by late 2025, with construction slated to be completed summer 2026. The construction timeline has not been released.
