Eagle Mountain City is requesting bids from responsible firms or individuals for one (1) Large mammal (>30" at shoulder height) detection system to be used off SR 73 to detect mule deer (primarily) migrating through the area and provide appropriate signage and warning systems to motorist traveling SR 73. Install Wildlife Detection System with full analytics to accurately detect medium and large size wildlife crossing the roadway and immediately activate signs to warn motorist. Target area will be 100 feet by 50 feet on each side of road for wildlife detection. System must be cable of independently tracking 4 separate zones on each side of the road and 2 separate measurement zones within the roadway. Upon accurately detecting medium to large wildlife the detection system will immediately and remotely activate 4 signs (2 Southbound Signs and 2
Northbound signs). System will also measure and log vehicle average speed, class, and count through the Wildlife Detection zone. System will log store all Wildlife Detection events and Vehicle Data for on-site collection every 60 days. System must employ passive thermal technology to detect wildlife with a false positive and false negative rate of less than 5% in all weather conditions. o Crossing opening on the south side of SR 73 is a 45' opening
o Crossing opening on the north side of SR73 is a 69' opening
o Total length of crossing from opening to opening is 132'
o Equipment provided to excavate access holes and bore under SR 73 and to provide power and connect
system. Provided by Eagle Mountain City and or UDOT
o Pipe to sleeve the cables/power provided by Eagle Mountain City and or UDOT
o Poles to erect monitoring system provided by UDOT or EMC.
