When our building at 101 N. Jackson Street was built, all buses owned by the Danville Mass Transit were of the same wheelbase. An in-ground, hydraulic lift was installed and was used on a regular basis by the maintenance department for the repair of buses. Lift is located in the main bay of the maintenance shop at 101 N. Jackson. It has not been in service for over 15 years. Different sized buses were acquired, and rotary lifts replaced the in-ground lift. A large piece of steel covers the lift openings in the floor and the plates are a tripping hazard. The lift needs to be removed by excavating the lift, infilling the pit and the concrete restored. Contractor is responsible for disposal of any materials including the old lift. Contractor will be expected to complete this project, while working with DMT to continue service without severe disruption of operations. A proposed timeline for completion of projects is required with bid. This project is funded with Federal and State grant funds which expire in March 2023. All work must be completed and all invoices processed and paid no later than March 1, 2023. Danville Mass Transit reserves the right to modify the language or specification of the Request for Proposal at any time via Addendum prior to the proposal due date. Proposals must be accompanied by an acceptable form of Proposal Guaranty in an amount of at least five (5) percent of the amount of the Proposal, payable to the City of Danville, Illinois. The Proposal Guaranty shall be a certified check, bank draft, or an executed Bid Bond acceptable to the Owner as a guaranty that if the Proposal is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract and will file an acceptable Contract Bond and Certificate of Insurance within (15) days after the award of the Contract. A Proposal Guaranty consisting of a personal check will not be accepted.
