The remedial action will address smelter fallout-impacted soil at properties in Tacoma, Washington and surrounding areas (Cleanup Site Identification Number 3657). This project remediates soils contaminated with arsenic and lead by operations at the former Tacoma Asarco Smelter at twenty-five (25) single family residential properties located in Tacoma, University Place and SeaTac, Pierce and King Counties, Washington. In general, the work at each property includes: implementing temporary construction controls for safety and environmental protections; excavating arsenic and lead contaminated soils; transporting and disposing of excavated contaminated soil in a Subtitle D landfill; importing clean fill materials; installing a geotextile fabric barrier; placing, grading and compaction of fill; restoring the properties to preconstruction conditions; and restoration of site features including landscape and lawn restoration and landscape maintenance, all in accordance with the requirements of the Project Manual. B. Installation of a French drain system at one (1) previously remediated property located in Tacoma, WA. Implement the Work using the drawings provided in APPENDIX G02 - FRENCH DRAIN DRAWINGS and restore the property to preconstruction conditions including landscape maintenance in accordance with the requirements of the Project Manual. C. The 60-day contractor landscape maintenance period for lawns (sod or hydroseed) and landscape plantings, which begins after completion of seeding or sod installation for lawns and after completion of landscape shrub and plant installation on each property.
