This is a procurement for the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) at the inactive Tennessee State Penitentiary (TSP). The scope of work involved is the upgrade of existing overhead electrical power distribution system owned by the State of Tennessee for the installation of eight (8) new electric service entrances and connection to each of eight (8) double wide trailers provided by others. The bid will include one new transformer, eight (8) new telephone poles, other wire, and fittings etc. to make complete eight (8) new electrical services, electrical utility lines, and related items at the old Tennessee State Penitentiary at 6406 Centennial Blvd., Nashville, TN, 37209. 1.Respondent will provide all equipment pickup and delivery, set-up for installation and operations of new live tapped 50KVA pole mounted transformer. The transformer is owner provided and will be supplied to the vendor to install. The primary voltage of the transformer should match that provided by the local utility and both shall be verified at 13.8 KV distribution voltage by the vendor. The transformer secondary shall be verified at time of installation to be 120/240 volts single phase. Contractor shall be required to tap the high voltage existing lines (field verify location and coordinate with Nashville Electric Service). Then overhead services shall be dropped down poles running underground conduits stubbing up at each new trailer and connected to the trailer's service entrance equipment provided by others. 2. ii) As a minimum construction standard shall include: (2) Each transformer primary connection shall have new fused cutouts and lightning arrestors installed. (3) All wire and cable shall be type approved by Nashville Electric Service for use. (4) New alumiweld steel guys to be installed on all poles where needed. (5) All lightning arrestors to be grounded with #2 bare copper conductor. (6) Document existing conditions prior to construction and replace turf grasses with like kind to match pre-construction condition. b) This is a one-time purchase to connect 8 double wide trailers with electric service only. Metering for the site is done at one location with current transformers so that disconnects are all that is required on each trailer. Service is to be underground in 2" conduits. c) See Exhibit "A" for site plan of this project. Potential respondents should be certified in high line utility work and have an electrical license. Award - will be at the discretion of the State of Tennessee Department of General Services who conducts the bid process and awards the contract to the low bidder with the qualifications to fulfill this contract. Delivery - Respondent must schedule the delivery commencement and completion of all work within 60 days from award of contract.
