The Joint Special School Building Committee of Nashua, New Hampshire is interested in procuring geotechnical services for planning for construction and/or renovations Birch Hill and Main Dunstable Elementary Schools. I. Background Information The Nashua Public School District consists of approximately 10,000 students enrolled in grades K-12. Facilities include 12 Elementary Schools, three Middle Schools, two comprehensive Senior High Schools and a Special Education Alternative School. All 18 schools are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and fully approved by the New Hampshire State Department of Education. The primary purpose of the school renovations is to modernize the physical plant and convert the learning environment from "open" to traditional walled classrooms. Some expansion of the existing building footprint may be necessary to accommodate additional classrooms and/or mechanical and storage spaces. Birch Hill Elementary School is located at 17 Birch Hill Drive. It was originally constructed in 1972 and was last renovated in 1993. There is approximately 65,000sf of building space and the school sits on a 19 acre site. The school houses grades K-5. Main Dunstable Elementary School is located at 20 Whitford Road. It was constructed in 1972 and was last renovated in 1993. There is approximately 65,000sf of building space and the school sits on a 58 acre site. The school houses grades K-5.
