A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. Work includes the demolition and removal of existing heating-only rooftop mounted air handler. The unit is to be replaced with two new 28-ton packaged DX cooling rooftop units with hot water heating coils. Some duct work and piping alteration will be necessary and additional electrical service will be required. Structural reinforcement will be required to accommodate the new distribution of weight. Six destratification fans will be added to assist with the distribution of heating in the winter. Lastly, upgraded DDC infrastructure will be included. B. Type ofContract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract per the Division of Public Works Fixed Price Construction Contract between Owner and Contractor. For DPW Project 21664 Replace Chiller, Frazier Hall, Idaho State University, Pocatello, Idaho A description of the work for this project can be summarized to include demolition and removal of existing 20 ton chiller (qty. 1 ) and associated primary pump, complete installation of new similarly sized chiller and pump, upgraded DDC infrastructure associated piping and electrical work. Demolish and remove existing outdoor condensing units, refrigerant piping and indoor DX coils. Complete installation of new similarly sized outdoor condensing units, refrigerant piping and indoor coils, upgraded DDC infrastructure, associated piping and electrical work. Base scope work also includes correcting a deficient condition from a previously completed project. This includes correcting piping connections at ten coils located throughout the building (switching the hot and chilled water piping connections at the 4-pipe fan coil units) and installing new autoflow control devices at the hot and chilled water coils on each. Alternate 1 involves adding a second chilled water primary pump, associated piping and electrical work A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount, including any add alternates, is required. A Public Works Contractor's License for the State of Idaho is required to bid on this work.
