The Water One has twenty one (21) below ground or ground level reservoirs and seven (7) elevated tanks that are used for the storage and delivery of potable water to the public; two (2) below ground tanks used for the delivery of non-potable pre-treated water; and two (2) Chemical Feed Tanks used for the storage and delivery of Ammonia. Each of these will be cleaned and disinfected according to these specifications. Only one tank or reservoir will be allowed to be out of service at a time. Water One will schedule with the Contractor, with four weeks notice, when each of these vessels will be cleaned. One at a time each of these structures will be drained by Water One to the point where only a few inches of sediment and water remain. For the purpose of these bid documents the Contractor is to assume 1/4 inch or less of sediment. Once the reservoir or tank floor has been washed down and all sediment removed by the CONTRACTOR, the reservoirs or tanks shall be inspected by the OWNER and then disinfected according to AWWA Standard C652-02 by the CONTRACTOR. Due to operations of Water One, these water storage facilities will be taken out of service separately unless specific permission is given the Contractor by Water One to take more than one out of service at a time. They cannot be returned to service until successfully passing the Bac-T testing performed internally by Water One laboratory staff.
