Street Maintenance Materials for Year 2023. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or cashier s check in the amount of $200. Such check shall be a certified or a cashier s check issued by either a state or national bank and payable to the City Finance Office as a guarantee that such bidder will enter into a contract with said City in case such bidder be awarded the contract. PERSONAL, CORPORATION, OR COMPANY CHECKS NOT CERTIFIED WILL DISQUALIFY THE BID. In lieu of bid check security, a bid bond in twice the amount of the bid security is acceptable. Bid shall be enclosed in a separate envelope with the notation BID ENCLOSED clearly marked on the face of the envelope. Specifications for such bids are on file in the office of the City Engineer, where the same may be examined. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part of the bid, or to accept a bidder other than the lowest in case it seems advisable to said City Council so to do. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of opening thereof. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to material products and supplies found or produced within the State of South Dakota. The City of Watertown, South Dakota does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, or disability in employment or the provision of services.
