Bidding is not anticipated to take place until 2024 at the earliest. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The Board of Water Works Trustees of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, (DMWW) is requesting proposals from qualified consulting engineering firms licensed in the state of Iowa to team with
DMWW to provide all necessary plans, specifications, and detailed final cost estimates, to allow effective procurement, bidding, and construction of necessary improvements to upgrade the
Saylorville Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) from 10 to 20 million gallons per day (MGD). Requested design services include complete surveying, architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, process,
plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire protection and life safety, instrumentation/control, and any other disciplines that are required to produce drawings and specifications to build and construct the raw
water and treatment plant expansion. Some pilot and exploratory testing will be required to enable this design to be completed. Bidding and construction support will also need to be included. Whenever the following terms are used in this RFP, the intent and meaning shall be interpreted as follows:
- The "Consultant" shall mean the Proposer selected by the selection committee who successfully executes a Professional Services Agreement with DMWW for completing the Scope of Work described in this RFP.
- The "Proposer" shall mean the engineering/architectural firm that has submitted a proposal in response to this RFP.
- The "Selection Committee" shall mean a group appointed by DMWW to review proposals and make recommendation for selection of Consultant. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. As of August 28, 2023, no new information available
