Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Asbury Avenue Drainage Improvements: The project shall consist of Regrading and Resurfacing of Asbury Avenue to have an inverted crown that conveys stormwater runoff to new drop inlets to protect adjoining properties. Stormwater shall flow to a new, approximately 11' deep lift station with a force main that runs south down Henderson Blvd. and ties to an existing velocity dissipator in the dunes, south of the existing public restrooms. Repair and replacement of asphalt, driveways, landscaping, utilities, etc. as necessary for project completion. All materials, labor, equipment and construction shall be furnished by the contractor. Davis and Cooper Drainage Improvements: Installation of two culverts on Cooper Avenue Extension and one drop inlet with downstream pipe on Davis Blvd for positive drainage in low areas. Regrade adjoining areas to direct flow to new pipes. Repair and replacement of asphalt, driveways, landscaping, utilities, etc. as necessary for project completion. All materials, labor, equipment and construction shall be furnished by the contractor. A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the bidders maximum bid is required. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond will be required for the successful bidder in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract, payment of all persons supplying labor or furnishing materials, and payment of all liabilities incurred in connection with the work under this contract. North Carolina law requires any contractor bidding on work in the State which costs $30,000.00 or more to show evidence that he is licensed under the "Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contracting." Bidders shall be properly licensed under Chapter 87, General Statues of North Carolina. No consideration will be given any request for Plans and Specifications within the five (5) day period immediately prior to the date for receiving bids. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and any part of a bid and to waive informalities and technicalities in the bidding procedure. Bids must be submitted on the printed form, or exact copies thereof, contained in the Contract Documents. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to The Town of Atlantic Beach, and plainly marked "BID, TOWN OF ATLANTIC BEACH - ASBURY AVENUE/DAVIS AND COOPER DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS". The name, address and license number of the bidder shall be plainly marked on the outside of the envelope.
