Renovation of a water / sewer project in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
This project entails an upgrade of the plant-wide Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) panels for PLC's 1A,1B,4,5,6,7. A PLC receives electrical signals from several instruments and valves, converts them to treatment process numbers, and communicates them to the central computer system for viewing by operators. Operators in turn record these numbers for regulatory compliance and base their process decisions on these essential numbers. For consistency, these panels will be upgraded with the same PLC's that currently exist at the Charles W. Fiveash and Peele Dixie water treatment plants as well as throughout the Distribution and Collection (D&C) network This project is in included in the City of Fort Lauderdale FY 2023 Budget. As of October 11, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
