Renovation of an educational facility in West New York, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Board of Education of the Town of West New York, New Jersey, hereby advertises for competitive bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-21 (a, b) for the School Year 2022: ESSER II Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) II Window and Exterior Door Replacement Project at Public School No. 1, located at 6129 Madison St West New York, NJ 07093. This project includes, but is not limited to, the removal of windows and exterior doors and replacement of them with new windows and exterior doors; patching and repairing of interior and exterior adjacent finishes disturbed by the Work and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. All Requests for Information (RFI) must be received by Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 4:00 pm. and should be emailed to bidding@rscarchitects and copied to daustin@wnyschools.net. All bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., Affirmative Action Against Discrimination and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. An Initial Project Workforce Report will be required from the successful bidder (Form AA-201). Contractors bidding on this project are to comply with the requirements of the Prevailing Wage Rate Determination pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25. A bidder on a public works project for a Board of Education where the cost of the work exceeds $20,000.00 must first have been qualified by the Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-27 through 33, and shall submit with its bid a Prequalification Affidavit, a copy of a valid and active NOTICE OF CLASSIFICATION, a certified copy of a Total Amount of Uncompleted Contracts Form and an Affidavit that subsequent to the latest such statement submitted by it, there has been no material adverse change in its qualification information except as set forth in said Affidavit. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check or certified check made payable to the West New York Board of Education, for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the total bid, not to exceed $20,000.00. Corporate bidders are required by law (Chapter 33, Laws of 1977) to submit a list of names and addresses of all stockholders owning 10% or more of their stock. A Non-Collusion Certification and a Contractor Questionnaire also must be filed with the bid. The bid package will also include other documents that must be completed and returned with the bid. Failure to comply with Instructions to Bidders and to complete and submit all required forms may be cause for disqualification and rejection of the bid. All bidders and all subcontractors named in this proposal must possess a valid Public Works Contractor Registration Certificate, issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development time of bid submission, and are encouraged to submit copies of such certificate(s) with their bid proposal. N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48. All bidders and all subcontractors named in this proposal must possess a Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury at the time of bid submission, and are encouraged to submit copies of such of certificate(s) with their bid proposal. N.J.S.A. 52:32-44. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A-2(s), (t), (x), (y), 18A:18A-4(a), 18A:18A-22, and to waive any informalities that may be in the best interest of the Board. The Board further reserves the right to award such alternates as it deems appropriate, and in any order that the Board feels may be in the best interest of the West New York Public School District (the "District"). Project Number 10.21.001, 10.21.003 This project includes the removal of all windows and exterior doors and their replacement with new windows and exterior doors as specified in the drawings and written specifications. The work shall include the provision of all materials, labor, equipment, sidewalk bridging, barricades and other forms of protection as required to complete the project in a safe, timely and professional manner. The contractor is responsible for all cutting and patching and shall restore all finishes disturbed by the work to a like new condition. to achieve this end all work and materials implied, but not necessarily specified shall be provided by the contractor at no additional cost to the owner. the contractor shall keep the work site clear of debris and broom swept on a daily basis. the contractor shall promptly remove and dispose of off -site all construction debris in accordance with local laws. Remove sealant from perimeter of each window and door unit and from adjacent materials. clean adjacent surfaces and prime as required to receive new sealants. sealants are to be installed per sealant manufacturer's written instructions and specifications. Interior wood trim work is to be painted. prepare wood trim as required to receive new paint finish. apply one coat of primer and two top coats of paint.
