Renovation of an educational facility in Wichita Falls, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

You are receiving this notification because your company is listed on the State of Texas Centralized Master Bidders List (CMBL) or your company has expressed an interest in receiving a request for bid opportunities from Midwestern State University (MSU). This notification is the only documentation that will be posted to the Electronic State Business Daily (ESBD). Please refer to MSU, at the above link, for all documentation for this solicitation. Midwestern State University, Purchasing Office appreciates your interest in this project. Question Deadline 10/26/2022 at 12:00 PM CT Remove existing flooring and provide and install new LVT in the specified areas of the 2 nd and 3rd floor of Bridwell Hall. Areas to be replaced are the hatched areas shown in the attached drawings Bridwell 2nd Floor LVT 2022 (Appendix F) and Bridwell 3rd Floor LVT 2022 (Appendix G) 2. The existing flooring is 12 inches x 12 inches vinyl tile. 3. New flooring is to be Shaw Contract. A. Style: Thoughtful (4122V) B. Color: Vellum (22103) C. Size: 23.62 inches x 23.62 inches x 5.0 mm. (note, most corridors are 6 feet wide) D. NO SUBSTITUTIONS allowed. 4. Lay Pattern: staggered brick (to minimize waste and narrow cuts) with random orientation. 5. Floor tile installation must meet manufacturer's requirements. 6. Mechanical methods shall be used to remove substrate substances (coatings, silicone, wax, oil, etc.) that are incompatible with the tile adhesive. Do not use solvents. 7. Substrate is to be prepared so it complies with the manufacturer's requirements. 8. No tiles shall be less than 6 inch in width except as required to complete long runs. 9. Tile seams shall be tight and straight. 10. Tile shall fit tight (< 1/16 inch) against items it butts up against unless gap is lapped by wall base or a transition. 11. The bottoms of door frames are to be caulk with a color matching the door frame. (All frames are the same color.) 12. Remove and replace wall base wherever new flooring is installed A. Material: 4 inch ROPPE 182 TOFFEE B. Existing wall base is to be removed in such a manner as to minimize damage to the wall texture. Damage is to be repaired so that the walls are paint ready at the completion of the work. (Painting by MSU.) C. Install pre-molded outside corners before installation of straight pieces D. Install in lengths as long as practicable. E. Do not stretch during installation. F. No waves, bulges or depressions. MSU will make allowance for existing field conditions. G. Cut inside corners so there is no gapping or overlapping. H. There shall not be gaps at seams, corner pieces or at abutments to field objects (e.g. door frames) I. Tops of butting pieces are to align. J. Base is to be in continuous contact with wall and flooring. K. Adhesive is to be applied generously and continuously. 13. New rubber thresholds shall be supplied and installed at all transitions to existing flooring. 14. Provide 5% of extra tiles. Tiles shall be full size. General Requirements 1. The Contractor shall take precautions to protect MSU personnel and students in the area. A. Cordon off work areas. B. Keep trip hazards (materials, cords, tools, etc.) out of walk paths. C. Promptly clean up slip hazards. D. Work with MSU to prevent fumes from entering the building's HVAC system and/or adjacent areas. E. etc. 2. The Contractor shall take precautions to protect MSU property. A. Protect wall, floors, doors, etc. as necessary to prevent damage from Contractor activities. B. Contain dust to work area and protect walls, ceilings, furniture, drapery, window blinds, equipment, elevated horizontal surfaces and any other items that cannot be easily and effectively cleaned. C. etc. 3. Contractor shall maintain constant dust and debris control throughout the duration of the project. 4. The Contractor is responsible for the removal off all construction related debris, including old flooring. MSU dumpsters shall NOT be used. 5. The Contractor shall keep project materials in the immediate work area or an agreed upon staging area. 6. Products are to be installed per the manufacturer's specifications. 7. The Contractor shall thoroughly clean and straighten the area upon the completion of the project. A. Flooring, wall base and thresholds are to be glue and marring free and clean. B. All area surfaces are to be returned to original condition. (Construction dust, dirt, marring, etc. removed.) 8. MSU Texas will remove and reinstall furnishings. 9. The Contractor should provide product specification sheets and maintenance instructions. 10. The Contractor shall provide standard product warranty and a one-year guarantee on his workmanship
