The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) requires all contractors and subcontractors who bid or perform work on a public works project (as defined under the Labor Code) be subject to a registration and annual renewal fee. Contractors must apply online and meet minimum qualifications to be registered as eligible to bid and work on public works projects. The requirement to list only registered contractors and subcontractors on bids became effective on March 1, 2015. The requirement to only use registered contractors and subcontractors on public works projects applies to all projects awarded on or after April 1, 2015. THIS PROJECT SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF SB 854. Substitution of securities for any monies withheld by the City of Lancaster to ensure performance under this contract will be permitted in accordance with Section 22300 of the State of California Public Contract Code.
