As of November 4, 2022, a design engineer has not been selected. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference Dedicated fiber connectivity is required to enable the City to leverage simultaneous video feeds from the TxDOT and Transtar traffic cameras. These camera feeds will be used by Public Safety and Emergency Management. Fiber optic infrastructure is necessary for safe and controlled city operations and communication between critical facilities throughout the city of Baytown. City owned and managed underground fiber will allow for superior network performance and survivability during inclement weather as compared to existing overhead services provided by commercial vendors. Designing and overseeing the construction of the fiber optic connection of multi-strand traffic signal connections and a standalone dedicated 24-strand shielded line for IT throughout each conduit route. Fiber shall connect the Municipal Service Center, Facility Service, City Hall, and the Utility Billing building. Additionally, fiber along Main street shall connect the Public Safety Campus to the 911 Center, and the TxDOT junction at N. Main and SH 146 frontage road. Preliminary and Final Design Services must be completed within a maximum of 10 months from the Notice to Proceed date. The Method of Contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
