The bid should be for mowing on a ten day schedule with trimming once per month or as needed, with the exception of the cemetery being mowed and trimmed once every seven days or as needed. Please supply with your bid a copy of your certificate of insurance with a minimum of 1 million dollars in liability coverage as well as the equipment that you will plan to utilize for this work. Picking up small limbs and trash shall be done before mowing by the contractor. The contractor shall notify the Public Service Department at 641-236-2632 to have any large limbs that need to be picked up. Damage to trees by mowers or string trimmers is not acceptable. Repairs/replacement of property damaged by contractor shall be charged accordingly to contractor. Care will need to be taken in the preservation of grave markers and seasonal items that are placed at grave sites in the cemetery. City staff will be responsible for the removal of seasonal items twice each year. It is recommended that a mutually agreed upon, pre-existing damage report of grave markers be generated by contractor prior to the start of the mowing season. Monthly bills should be turned in no later than the 25th of each month to assure payment the first part of the following month. City staff will make every effort to communicate special events or rentals of facilities that will need to be considered by the contractor to prevent any conflicts with the mowing schedule. With a thirty day written notice, either the contractor or the city may request termination of agreement for any reason. The City of Grinnell reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
