Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The project consists of two locations and includes construction of a new sidewalk along Bering Ditch from Windswept Ln. to Westpark Dr. for an approximate length of 800 ft, crossing improvements at Windswept Ln., and intersection median, sidewalk, and crossing improvements at Fountain View Dr. and Fairdale Ln. This work will include the following: A. Obtaining all necessary permits and approvals for construction. B. Removal of existing reinforced concrete pavement and curb where proposed sidewalk is to go. C. Clearing and grubbing, tree removals, tree root pruning and protection fencing, and stormwater pollution prevention measures as shown in the plans to prepare the ground for the sidewalk. Clearing and grubbing shall be limited to area required to emplace proposed improvements (see sodding work below). D. Installation of 6" thick concrete sidewalks and wheelchair ramps with tapered curbs and detectable warning surfaces to connect to existing sidewalks and curb and gutter. E. Installation of handrailing and foundation as shown in plans. F. Installation of pavement markings and relocation of existing street signs as indicated in plans. G. Furnishing and installing Rapid Flashing Beacon System (RFBS) with push button activation, including all incidental work required (including street cut permit and boring and conduit/wire installation if needed) to complete in place. H. Furnish and placing sodding to restore pervious surfaces disturbed by construction. Pay limits consist of two (2) feet on either side of proposed improvements. Additional sodding to restore other areas disturbed by construction shall be furnished and placed at no cost to Owner. City of Houston General Conditions and Standard Construction Specifications govern the Project. Texas Department of Transportation and Harris County Flood Control District Specifications are applicable to proposed handrailing and tree protection, respectively.
