Saving Project...

Demolition, site work and new construction of a detention facility in Laval, Quebec. Design plans call for the demolition of a 108,700-square-foot, two-story above grade detention facility; for the construction of a 300,945-square-foot, three-story above grade, 237-bed detention facility; for site work for a detention facility; and detention facility.

Reconstruction of the Montreal Women's Detention Facility located at 400 Montée Saint-François, Laval, Quebec. The project includes the demolition and reconstruction of the building in order to accommodate an exclusively female clientele comprising 237 places. The total adjusted area of the new construction will be 27,865 m2, the area to be demolished being 10,065 m2. The project will be LEED certified. TIMELINE: Preliminary planning is in an advanced stage. The owner has awarded the professional consulting firm WSP to provide construction commissioning services. Working drawings are expected to begin in mid-summer 2024. According to the owner's scheduling a tender for the demolition contractor will be issued in summer 2024 and a tender for the general contractor of structural construction, in June 2025. Note. The value of the project is officially stated by the owner.
