The Traffic Operations Term Contract includes the work associated with the completion of various traffic engineering operational studies, such as speed studies and investigations, traffic signal operations and timing studies, systems engineering processes and documentation, intersection control evaluations, pedestrian studies, open highway analyses, and freeway/interchange studies. Studies may encompass a wide variety of highway elements including freeways, multilane highways, two lane highways, passing lanes, climbing lanes, intersection control, lane configurations, speed limits, multi-modal issues, traffic signals, interchanges, and innovative designs. Work associated with traffic engineering operational studies includes traffic data collection, operational analysis, safety analysis, and study recommendation. Extension(s) of contracts, by mutual agreement of both parties, may be made at one (1) year intervals, or any interval that is advantageous to MDT. Contracts, including any renewals, may not exceed a total of five (5) years. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time
