Work being performed includes, but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to construct new bicycle boulevard between Mukilteo Blvd at Elk Hill Dr and Fleming St at Madison St. This includes constructing raised median islands with textured and pigmented cement concrete, custom shared lane markings (sharrows), permanent signing, polymer cement surfaced bike lane, and temporary traffic control and performing all Work as required by the Contract Documents. All bids must be made upon the City forms provided for this purpose and must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check or cashier's check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid, all as set forth in the Contract Documents. One hundred percent (100%) Payment and Performance Bonds will be required of the successful Bidder to guarantee faithful performance of the contract. The Contractor will be required to comply with all local, State, and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to equal employment opportunities. The City, in accordance with the provisions ofTitle VI ofthe Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded fuil and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities. No Bidder may withdraw its Bid after the hour set for the opening thereof, except as may be provided in the Contract Documents. The City further reserves the right to make the bid award as deemed in the best interest of the City. The right is reserved by the City to postpone the award for a period offorty-five (45) days after bid opening.
