Site work for a transportation facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Design plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
Plans call for the Market Frankford Subway Elevated (MFSE) Signal System Replacement project and to provide services that include but are not limited to engineering consultant services to the Communications & Signals Maintenance and Engineering Department to replace the existing Automatic Train Control (ATC) Signal System currently in service on the MFSE with a new Signal System complete with Automatic Train Operation (ATO). In addition, the project will design for increased headway from the current 135 sec, Real Time Vehicle Location, Work Zone Blocking and a new universal interlocking in the underground section at 8th Street. The Project design will also account for changes required in the traction return and third rail configuration and incorporate requirements for both the existing and new MS cars on the Market Frankford Line. As of April 12, 2024, the design firm has been selected. The construction document completion timeline has not been released. Construction is slated to begin in fy 2026.
