Distribution System Upsizing and New Storage Tank Project. The Project includes the following Work: Furnish and install 5,325 ft of 14-inch Ductile Iron water main and associated appurtenances along Pine Street, Green Street and Kingsbury Hill Road and connect near the existing water storage tank to upsize the water mains. Furnish and install a proposed 878,000-gallon water storage tank with site work and an access drive and connect to the existing water system with 2,600 ft of 12-inch and 8-inch Ductile Iron water main and associated appurtenances along the access drive, Mount Pleasant Avenue and South Main Street. This project must be substantially complete by September 1, 2023. Final completion- October 15, 2023 ; New water storage tank must be on-line by August 1, 2023. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the necessary bonds if the contract is awarded to him/her. No pre-bid conference will be held for this Project. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. The Supplementary Conditions set forth requirements for the payment by the Contractor and its Subcontractors of minimum wage rates for all classes of laborers and mechanics as set forth by the General Prevailing Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the New York Department of Labor, Article 8 Public Work, as applicable to the Work. Davis Bacon wage rates also apply to this contract. Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials. The following waivers apply to this Contract: De Minimis, Minor Components, and pig iron and direct reduced iron.
