Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a library in Stephenville, Texas. Completed plans call for the addition of a two-story above grade library; for the demolition of a library; for the renovation of a three-story above grade library; and for site work for a library.
A. The Work of this Contract comprises the general construction of a new building and includes an enclosed bridge-style connection to the 2nd and 3rd floors of the existing nursing school. Currently, the proposed site is an existing parking lot with various underground utilities located on the Stephenville campus of Tarleton State University for the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System. B. The Drawings and Specifications do not necessarily indicate or describe all Work required for completion of Project. C. The Contract Documents describe the essential elements sufficiently to determine the scope of the Project. D. Provide all items required for complete operating systems including items not necessarily shown in these Contract Documents, but that can be reasonably inferred as being required for a complete operating system. E. The Drawings and Specifications indicate the basic quality of material and quality of construction required for the entire Project. The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction (FP&C), on behalf of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System (Owner) and Tarleton State University, is accepting proposals for the selection process to enter into a contract with a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) firm to provide preconstruction services such as constructability guidance, cost estimates, and construction schedules; provide a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP); and perform complete construction services consistent with the CMAR construction delivery process as utilized by The Texas A&M University System for the Tarleton State University Dick Smith Library Renovation & Expansion project (#04-3361) located in Stephenville, Texas. The Dick Smith Library Expansion is a combination of two-story addition (9,800 SF) and limited renovation of the existing three-story building. On the recently demolished Davis Hall site south of the library, this project will expand the overall library space and provide a wide variety of accommodations. This RFP is the one-step process for selecting a CMAR firm for the project as provided by Texas Education Code 51.782(e). The RFP provides the information necessary to prepare and submit Proposals including fee proposals and general conditions prices. The Owner will rank the Respondents in the order that they provide the "best value" for the Owner based on the published selection criteria and on the ranking evaluations. Interviews of CMAR firms may follow at the Owner's option. Any questions regarding this RFP shall be directed to: Ashley Valka The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction Office: (979) 458-7062 E-mail: avalka@tamus.edu
